Overview:
It's been 15 years since that first group of 1/2 dozen or so
Cobras made their way to South Lake Tahoe and "Snakes
to the Lake" was born. Over the years we have shifted
both the date and location in the Tahoe area staying in
North Lake, Minden and now in South Lake. Over the
years we have seen the weather range from mild & sunny
to rain and even snow. But regardless of the location or
season, one thing has remain constant, that has been the
great people that have attended Snakes to the Lake and
that are part of our Cobra community.
Something Old- We are bringing back the MS Dixie
dinner cruise
Sailing off into the sunset, you're on your way to a magical
evening of dinner, dancing, and starlit strolls. A narration
featuring intriguing stories about Fanette Island and
Vikingsholm, will whet your appetite for four gourmet
courses. Select from entrees like Angus beef top sirloin or
macadamia-crusted mahi-mahi. signature cocktails and
fine wines are available for purchase. Live entertainment
features "Safari" playing hits from all eras.
Something New- We are adding the Truckee river float trip
Truckee River raft excursions consist of a leisurely, self-
guided, five-mile float down the Truckee River (it's only 2-
3ft deep in most spots). On our voyage you’ll cruise
through mellow and serene areas with picturesque
mountain views and lively little rapids, punctuated here
and there with perfect swimming holes and picnic spots.
We encourage you to bring lunch and drinks (no glass or
styrofoam) We have arranged for reserved parking across
from the River Ranch called Hidden Valley at the end of
our excursion. Along with the reserved/secure parking, a
free shuttle bus will provide transportation to the start point
of our float trip in Tahoe City.
